Champagne Henriot - Cuvée Hemera 2005

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2019

(around 145 euros per bottle)
Mythical champagne

Original and refined bottle. Agglomerated cork to ensure the absence of cork taste.

Aspect:

Solar and brilliant.

Delicate effervescence.

Generous tears.

Nose:

Splendid, source of rare emotions.

Seductive aromas of candied citrus fruits, fig, apple and pear compote, delicately underlined by a breath of fresh mint, expressions of the Chardonnay (50%), harmoniously mingle with radiant fragrances of red and black fruits, barely spicy, characteristic signs of the Pinot Noir (50%).

Later, the sensual fullness takes us, with its heady scents of honey, cocoa and roasted coffee, result of 12 years of ageing of the bottles, at constant temperature of 12 °C, in the deep cellars of the house.

Palate:

Joyful vitality at the opening, enhanced by the splendid chalky minerality.

The freshness slowly unveils a vertiginous presence and an enveloping warmth, almost structured, highlighted by a beautiful bitterness.

Perfect balance at the end, supported by the silky effervescence.

Fabulous length on the palate.

With this Cuvée Hemera 2005, new Henriot signature, Laurent Fresnet, cellar master of the Champagne house Henriot, selected his best plots, exclusively in Grands Crus, to reach the absolute balance between Chardonnays and Pinots Noirs and to sign his first vintage.

Ideal from aperitif to meal, with a turkey stew, cocoa and clementines, for example.
