Guide VERON des Champagnes 2016
(around 65 euros per bottle)
Luxurious and elegant presentation.
Aspect :
·
Golden and bright.
·
Particularly fine bubbles.
·
Refined bead of bubbles.
Nose :
·
Rich and gourmet.
·
Radiant aromas of
honey and caramel, punctuated by toasted and roasted notes, expressions of the great
maturity of the cuvée, result of 8
years of ageing on laths of the bottles, before disgorgement, with autolysis of
the prise de mousse yeasts.
·
The nose then
unveils a remarkable complexity, real embrace of the Pinot Noir (60%), with its
hints of red and black fruits and soft spices, and of the Chardonnay (40%),
full of elegance with its notes of citrus fruits, hazelnut and white fruits,
harvested nice ripe (10 natural degrees of alcohol).
Palate :
·
Initially balanced, supported by a touching
minerality.
·
The warmth becomes sensual, definitely thanks to the
fulfillment of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines and to the
generous dosage, with 11 g/L of sugar added at disgorgement.
·
Deep and creamy finish enhanced by the refined
effervescence.
·
Great length on the palate.
With this cuvée Brut Millésime 2005 Vintage, Thierry Roset, Chef de Cave passed away too soon of the Champagne House Charles Heidsieck, put his talent of wine grower in the service of the 11 best Crus of Champagne (Vertus, Avize, Cramant, Vindey, Mailly-Champagne, Ambonnay, etc.) and of a great year 2005.
To taste during gourmet meals, as a starter, with
macaroni stuffed with black truffle and artichoke, for example.
True to the founding philosophy of
Charles Heidsieck, charismatic and audacious visionary, the Champagne House
Charles Heidsieck perpetuates its inimitable style. A vineyard cultivated in
the greatest respect of the environment, a vinification in small volumes, by
Crus and by varietals, of the inspired blending and Champagnes aged for a long
time at constant temperature (10°C) in the deep chalk pits of the House, give
life to highly expressive Champagnes.
