(around 45 euros per bottle)
Inimitable and luxurious bottle for this Cuvée created in homage to the period of the Hundred Years War, so particular to the Champagne area.
Aspect :
·
White gold.
·
Very fine perlage, sparkling.
·
Reserved bead of bubbles.
Nose :
·
Harmonious and sensual, source
of intense pleasure.
·
Initially dominated by fresh
and candied red fruits, carefully underlined by subtle spicies, signature of
the Pinot Noir (70%), main varietal of the House, and of the Pinot Meunier
(30%).
·
The maturity is then revealed,
result of 4 years of ageing on laths of the bottles before disgorgement, with
some warm scents of honey and brioche, accompanied by a hint of roasting.
Palate :
·
Dense and deep attack, almost structured, supported by
a rich minerality. Expression of the best terroirs on which grapes were
carefully selected, with a majority of Grands Crus and Premiers Crus (Aÿ,
Cumières, Tauxières-Mutry, …).
·
The mouth then reveals its sensuality, enhanced by the
generous dosage, with 11 g/L of sugar added at disgorgement, and underlined by
a refined effervescence.
