Sober
and luxurious presentation.
Aspect :
·
Golden, brilliant.
·
Very fine bubbles.
·
Refines bead of bubbles, persistent on the periphery of the flute after
service.
Nose :
·
Radiant and gourmet.
·
Aromas
of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant and blackberry), barely
spicy, touching signatures of the Pinot Noir (25%), on the Grand Cru of Aÿ.
·
The
Chardonnay, main varietal (75%), selected on the terroirs of Aÿ and Bassu, then slowly reveals, with elegance, some
subtle scents of apple, pear, peach, apricot, almond, hazelnut and white
flowers.
·
Beautiful maturity, the result of ageing on
laths of the bottles for 3 years before disgorgement, with some fragrances of
fresh butter, honey, brioche and caramel.
Palate :
·
Neat attack, allowed by the rigorous selection of the
first juices (cuvée) during the soft pressing of the grapes, enhanced by the
minerality.
·
The mouth then
becomes dense and warm, thanks tothe judicious fulfullment of the malolactic
fermentation of the base wines and to the generous dosage with 10 g/L of sugar
added at disgorgement.

Deliciously
acidulous finish.
·
Great length on the palate.
With this Cuvée
Prestige, René and Laurent Roger, its producers, were able to compose the
ideal blending with 25% of reserve wines of Pinot Noir and 75% of base wine of
Chardonnay from 2010, to offer us a very successful Champagne.
To taste as an aperitif or during a meal, to accompany
some duck magret slivers, for example.
Wine growers in Aÿ since 1876, the
Champagne House René Roger passionately cultivates its vineyard of 8.4
hectares, planted with 75% of Pinot Noir and 25% of Chardonnay, mainly located
over the well exposed hillsides of the Grand Cru of Aÿ, completed by the
Premiers Crus of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Mutigny and by the terroir of Bassu in the Vitryat. A controlled development,
respecting the Champagne traditions, gives birth to 33,000 bottles per year of
quality Champagnes.
