(around 33 euros per bottle)
Luxurious presentation.
Aspect :
·
Golden.
·
Fine and dynamic bubbles.
·
Refined bead of bubbles.
Nose :
·
Rich
and sensual, it takes us into an endless aromatic harmony.
·
Aromas of red and black
fruits, punctuated by delicate spices, touching signatures of the Pinot Noir
(50%).
·
The Chardonnay (50%) is then
unveiled, initially reserved, with some notes of white fruits and citrus
fruits, supported by a life-giving breath, iodized and mentholated.
·
Heady maturity with some warm
hints of honey and pastry, delicately toasted, result of 9 years of ageing on
laths of the bottles before disgorgement, at a constant temperature (12°C), regulated
by chalk, in the deep cellars of the House.
Palate :
·
Frank opening, allowed by the rigorous selection of
the best juices during the pressing of the grapes.
·
The mouth becomes sensual and deep, heightened by the
silky effervescence, reinforced by the judicious fulfillment of the malolactic
fermentation of the base wines.
·
Tasty finish, underlined by a touching minerality.
·
Remarkable length on the palate.
With this Millésime Grand Cru 2004, Philippe Secondé, wine grower and oenologist, was able to compose by dint of blind tasting of his base wines from the oldest plots, the inspired blending of the terroirs from the Grand Cru of Bouzy, exclusive origin of the grapes.
Ideal to
accompany your intimate moments, from aperitif to meal, with a spice-rubbed
pike perch fillet, for example.
Wine
grower in Bouzy for 5 generations, the Champagne House E. Barnaut, created in
1874, cultivates its vineyard of 17 hectares with the constant desire to reduce
the environmental footprint. 12.5 hectares of Grands Crus from the Mountain of
Reims (95% in Bouzy, completed by Ambonnay and Louvois) and a controlled
oenology, with a vinification in small volumes and a low dosage of SO2,
give birth to around 100,000 bottles of high level Champagnes and 5,000 bottles
of Coteaux Champenois each year.
