Champagne Breton Fils - Brut de brut

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2012

(around 15 Euros per bottle)

The Champagne Breton & Sons is located on a vineyard of 17 hectares in Congy between the Côte des Blancs and the Côteaux of Sézannais. It vinifies and sells 160 000 bottles of Champagne every year and this in compliance with the Champagne tradition.

The presentation of this Champagne is traditional.

Appearance :

  • Yellow with green flashes
  • Numerous and fine bubbles
  • Discreet fiziness Cordon

Aroma :

  • Pleasant
  • First nose marked by citrus (lemon, grapefruit and clementine) assorted with fresh butter, translation of the elegance of the Chardonnay which represents 50% of this Cuvée blending.
  • The nose then develops towards delicate tinges of roasted coffee strengthened by morello cherry overtones, expression of the 50% of Pinot Noir.

Taste :

  • Frank, on citrus, thanks to a dosage judiciously low (6 g/L of sugar added at the disgorging), perfectly mastered.
  • The mouth then discloses a great presence, all in tension, on minerality supported by delicious spices (pepper).
  • Good length on the palate

With this Brut de Brut, Johann Breton, its maker, promises an engaging Cuvée which gives a nice image of the traditional blending Champagnes.

To be served with the aperitif or along the meal with oysters or seafood.
