Champagne Nominé-Renard - Brut Blanc de Blancs

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2018
(around 19 euros per bottle)

Original and luxurious bottle.

Aspect:

Golden, with reserved emerald glints.

Refined bubbles.

Fine bead of foam.

Nose:

Elegant and sensual, source of intense pleasure.

The Chardonnay, exclusive varietal of the cuvée, takes us with delicate touches of candied citrus fruits, apple and white flowers, barely mentholated.

Later, the fullness of the Champagne is revealed with its generous aromas of pastries, delicately toasted, result of the long ageing on laths of the bottles (4 years) before disgorgement.

Palate:

Lively opening, characteristic sign of the selection of the first juices (cuvée) during the pressing of the grapes, driven by the tasty mineral tension of the five plots rigorously selected (Le Four à Chaux, Le Petit Val, Macheret, Tout y Brûle and Les Clos Prieur).

The mouth becomes caressing creamy thanks to the judicious fulfilment of the malolactic fermentation of the base wines and to the generous dosage at disgorgement.

Deliciously acidulous finish.

Great length on the palate.

For this touching Brut Blanc de Blancs, Simon Nominé, passionate wine grower and cellar master, was able to compose the inspired blending of years (65% of base wines from 2011 and 35% of reserve wines from the five previous years) and terroirs (Etoges, Villevenard and Allemant), with tasting, to establish the Nominé-Renard style, between delicacy and elegance.

To taste from aperitif to meal, with a blue lobtser, raspberries and green asparagus, for example.

Wine grower in Villevenard, the Champagne House Nominé-Renard has been perpetuating with passion the champenois expertises. A vineyard of 20 hectares established on the hillsides of the Petit Morin, the hillside of Sézanne and the Marne Valley, cultivated with the real desire to respect the environment and to preserve the biodiversity (being certified Haute Valeur Environnementale) and a meticulous œnology, with separate vinifications of varietals and Crus, in small volumes, allow to produce around 100,000 bottles per year of harmonious champagnes.
