Luxurious presentation.
Aspect
:
·
Golden and luminous.
·
Very fine bubbles.
·
Delicate bead of bubbles.
Nose :
·
Radiant, taking you into an
endless and exciting aromatic symphony.
·
Scents of apple and pear
compote, candied citrus fuits, apricot and raisins, signature of the Chardonnay
(65%).
·
The Champagne then reveals a
captivating maturity, underlined by subtle woody touches, on sensual notes of
caramel and chocolate, barely toasted, the result of ageing on laths of the
bottles for 6 years before disgorgement.
·
The Pinot Noir (35%) is
revealed at last, powerful and generous, with some red fruits and kirsh touches.
Palate :
·
Pure attack, thanks to the timely stop of the malolactic fermentation and to the rigorous
selection of the first juices (cuvée), during the pressing of the grapes.
·
The mouth becomes then depth, ample and harmonious,
enhanced by a silky and enveloping effervescence and by the reserved woody
touch obtained by vinification and ageing of the base wines in old oak barrels,
originating from Burgundy, without bâtonnage.
·
Mineral and spicy
finish.
·
Remarkable length on the palate.
With this Cuvée Paradis 2006, Nicolas Jaeger, the Chef de Cave of the Champagne House Alfred Gratien was able to select and and blend the best Grands Crus and Premiers Crus of the Côte des Blancs and of the Mountain of Reims, to offer us a rare Champagne.
To taste
as an aperitif, but above all during the meal, with a pheasant with truffles
and foie gras, for example.
True to its philosophy, the Champagne
house Alfred Gratien perpetuates the champenois
tradition since 1864, helped by a patient and attentive oenology, elaborating
around 250,000 bottles of exceptional Champagne per year, interpretations
inspired of great terroirs of Champagne. Exclusive selection of the purest free run wines
(cuvées), vinification and ageing in oak barrels with systematic blocking of
the malolactic fermentation are unchangeable bases of the Gratien style.
