Guide VERON des Champagnes 2019
(around
18 euros per bottle)
Sober and bright bottle, decorated with a refined label.
Aspect:
Golden, brilliant.
Fine and dynamic bubbles.
Fine bead of bubbles, regular, persistent
after service of the flute.
Nose:
Perfumed, intense and radiant harmony.
The aromas of red and black fruits (wild
strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackcurrant and blackberry) delicately
highlighted by a touch of spices, signatures seductive of the Meunier (70%)
carefully harvested by hand in the beautiful terroir of Courcourt, gently interlace improbable touches of apple,
pear and citrus fruits, definitely the characteristic sign of the Pinot Noir (30%)
selected in Barbonne-Fayel and in La Celle-sous-Chantemerle.
Palate:
Lively attack obtained by the selection of
the first juices, purer, during the traditional soft pressing of the grapes,
highlighted by a joyful minerality.
The silky roundness then slowly settles in,
warm and ample, thanks to the judicious fulfilment of the malolactic
fermentation of the base wines, supported by a accurate dosage, with 7 g/L of
sugar added at disgorgement.
Deliciously acidulous finish, barely spicy.
Endless length on the palate.
For this cuvée
Saveur de Juliette, Vincent Huber, its producer, was able to accompany with
sensitivity the meeting between Pinot Noir and Meunier to offer us an
outstanding blanc de noirs, touching
homage to his grandmother.
Champagne for all occasions, from aperitif to
meal, with pork cheeks confit, glazed with honey, for example.
