Champagne Deutz - Amour de Deutz 2009

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2020

(around 150 euros per bottle)
Mythical champagne

Refined presentation. Bottle with a narrow ring, guarantee of a champagne exclusively produced by the house.

Aspect:

Gold, brilliant.

Bubbles of a rare finesse.

Fine bead of foam.

Nose:

Heady and endless aromatic universe.

The Chardonnay, exclusive varietal, takes us into an outstanding whirl of selected scents, between white fruits, nice ripe citrus fruits and delicate white flowers, enhanced by an iodized and mentholated breath.

Later, the cuvée affirms its radiant fullness with captivating touches of liqueur and pastries, result of 8 years of ageing on laths of the bottles before riddling and disgorgement.

Palate:

Brilliant purity thanks to the rigorous selection of the first juices (cuvée) during the soft pressing of the grapes, driven by the vertiginous minerality of the chalk of the majority of Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs (49% Avize and 40% Le Mesnil-sur-Oger), completed by Villers-Marmery (6%) and Villeneuve-Renneville (5%).

Remarkable presence supported by the delicious tension and the adjusted effervescence, lively and creamy.

Endless finish, with a joyful vitality and punctuated by soft spices.

For this cuvée Amour de Deutz 2009, Michel Davesne, cellar master of the Champagne house Deutz, was able to soak up the vintage to compose a new unforgettable interpretation of this emblematic cuvée.

Ideal partner for your intimate moments, from aperitif to meal, with a grilled pollack and yuzu, for example.

Founded in Aÿ in 1838 by William Deutz and directed by Fabrice Rosset, CEO since 1996, the Champagne house Deutz is based on its partner wine growers to cultivate 245 hectares of the greatest terroirs of Champagne of which 42 hectares are the property of the house, in a continuing effort to reduce the environmental footprint. A tailor-made vinification, in small volumes, to better reveal each of the Crus (80% of Grands Crus and Premiers Crus), enables Michel Davesne to establish each year the inimitable style of the house.
