Nose :
·
Complex and sensual, instantly
transporting the taster into an enchanting universe
·
Sensual aromas of brioche, caramel,
delicately toasted, roasted and vanilla hints, obtained by patient ageing sur
lattes of the bottles before disgorgement, with autolysis of the prise
de mousse yeasts, perfectly mastered
·
Then revealing mesmerising candied red
fruits (blackberry, strawberry) and stone fruits (plum, prune), together with
honey, beeswax and spices (pepper, cinnamon), completing a delightful aromatic
spectrum, thanks to the 50% Pinot Noir obtained from the Cru villages of
Bouzy, Verzy, Verzenay, Ambonnay and Aÿ
· The nose finally reveals notes of citrus fruits (clementine, lemon, grapefruit), apple compote, subtle notes of apricot and lychee, signature of the 50% Chardonnay, obtained from the noble terroir of the Côte des Blancs (Chouilly, Cramant, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Avize), but also Montgueux, the "Côte des Blancs" of Aube

at the nose, together with apple and walnut
·
Voluptuous and dense finish, with exquisite hints of
spices, toasted and roasted notes

This Palmes d'Or Brut Vintage 1999, 8th release, shows generous balance and fascinating sensuality, giving a beautiful image of the terroir of origin of the grapes, the majority obtained from Grand Cru sites. It delivers unforgettable emotions, thanks to the perfectly mastered techniques of David Hénault, the Chef de Cave of the Champagne House of Nicolas Feuillatte.
