Guide VERON des Champagnes 2013
(around
30 Euros per bottle)
Situated in Crouttes-sur-Marne for 3
generations, the Champagne House of Françoise Bedel, ECOCERT certified since
1999, passionately cultivates 8.4 hectares of vineyard, following the
principles of organic farming and producing authentic Champagne.
Elegant looking, with neat labelling
bearing the symbols of organic farming. An original and mysterious name, the persuasion of
this wine in leaving its message, based on the game of astute words.
Appearance
:
- Intense
yellow gold
- Fine
and lively perlage
- Bright and limpid
Nose :
- The
nose is structured and alluring, with remarkable complexity, a source of
great pleasure, indication of meticulous work of parcelled land
vinification and expertise in the art of blending
- Aromas
of quince, acacia, candied apple and pear, expressed by the 6% Chardonnay,
mingle delightfully with the heady notes of blackberry, blackcurrant,
mirabelle plum, combined with fig, dried apricot, walnut and hazelnut
- The nose then develops tempting scents of honey, spiced bread and beeswax, cinnamon and roasted coffee obtained from patiently ageing the bottles sur lattes (7 years)
Palate
:
- Full
and round, revealing rare presence and volume, a superb expression of very
mature grapes, obtained mainly from the scorching hot year of 2003, with
86% Pinot Meunier holding the majority in the blending and 8% Pinot Noir.
- Subtle
effervescence
- Rich
finish, almost structured, enriched by delicate spicy notes (pepper,
cinnamon, vanilla, ...), delicious expression of subtle woody notes, the
result of the vinification of 10% of the base wines in oak barrels
- Unusual length on the palate
This Cuvée « Dis, Vin Secret - Brut »
delivers a beautiful image of the terroir of origin: Crouttes-Sur-Marne,
Charly-Sur-Marne and Nanteuil-Sur-Marne. A wonderful reward for the Champagne
House of Françoise Bedel, which firmly believes in environmentally friendly biodynamic
viticulture and presents Champagne of true quality.
Ideal as an aperitif, with foie gras canapés, a good
accompaniment to festive meals, with duck breast or pork stew with mushrooms.
