Champagne Yannick Prévoteau - La Perle des Treilles

Guide VERON des Champagnes 2017
(around 18 euros per bottle)

Sober and luxurious presentation. Poetic name, reference to the locality “Les Treilles” in which is the House.

Aspect:

Golden.

Fine and brilliant bubbles.

Bead of scattered bubbles, persistent.

Nose:

Aromatic harmony, sensual and endless.

The Pinot Noir (60%), selected on the Grand Cru of Aÿ and the terroirs of Damery and Venteuil, takes us into its universe of red and black fruits (cherry, strawberry, raspberry, blackberry and blueberry), delicately spicy.

Later, aromas of apple, pear and citrus fruits supported by notes of exotic fruits are revealed, touching signatures of the Chardonnay from the Vitryat.

Beautiful maturity, with its scents of honey moving towards brioche hints, thanks to three years of ageing on laths of the bottles before disgorgement.

Palate:

Pure and dense opening, definitely obtained by the selection of the first juices (cuvée) during the pressing of the grapes, but also by the undesired malolactic fermentation of the base wines.

The minerality and the delicious tension give way to a gourmet generosity, reinforced by the judicious dosage, with 9 g/L of sugar added at disgorgement.

Tasty finish.

Great length on the palate.

For this cuvée La Perle des Treilles, also in a no sugar added version, Eric and Yannick Prévoteau were able to compose an inspired blending of vintages, with 25% from 2009, 25% from 2010 and 50% from 2011, to offer us a highly expressive Champagne.

To taste from aperitif to meal, with a pressed foie gras and a féra from Léman, for example.

Fifth generation of wine growers settled in Damery, in the heart of the Marne Valley, Yannick and Eric Prévoteau now direct the Champagne House Yannick Prévoteau. They cultivate with passion their vineyard of 10.30 hectares, planted with the three champenois varietals, spread over 12 Crus of Champagne. A traditional and controlled oenology allows them to produce and market high quality Champagnes in their wine estate.
